Music does influence Fashion

As a big fan of the whole rock 'n' roll thing I am always interested to see what the ladies in the music industry are strutting their stuff in.  Even the biggest designers in fashion look towards music for their inspiration, Karl Lagerfield cited Amy Winehouse as a style icon.

Debbie Harry has to be one of my ultimate favourite fashion/music stylistas.  She  always looked effortlessly cool and her influence is still easy to spot on the street today:

 

At the moment I am loving V.V Brown.  Not only does she seem to be a talanted musician but from what I have seen of her style so far, I likey!

Jourdan loves the hi-top look!

All tied up in bows!

I absolutely love bows and I wouldn't say I am a particularly girly girl but bows make me smile, a lot.  You could go a bit crazy because you can get everything bow shaped now from hairbands to bows that clip on your shoes (how clever!).  For inspiration look to Minnie Mouse for that twee look, for something a little more sophisticated look no further than Chanel and for the quirky factor check out Moschino:

Shiny Disco Balls

I’ve noticed that a lot of the stars are going for red carpet glamour in metallic colours and styles this month. I love some of these styles however, you do run the risk of looking like a giant disco ball. Nicole Ritchie pulls it off and looks amazing as her dress is subtle but elegant.

Another way to wear metalics but avoid the disco ball aspect is to accessorise! Metallic accessories go with everything and add that little bit of bling. Here are some of my favorites:

      

         

Winter Boots!

I recently bought Merrell boots for the winter and I think they are the comfiest and cosiest pair of boots that I have ever owned. Also they will last forever! I like wearing boots with casual skirts and thick tights but not too sure what style of skirts they would go with. I was thinking maybe some of these……     

Lipstick Jungle

   I’m loving Lipstick Jungle at the minute, the new season is setting up to be just as good, if not better than the last. Candace Bushnell has definitely succeeded in filling the void left after the final episode of Sex in the City. The cast carry on Carrie’s impeccable fashion taste displaying up to the minute fashion both on and off the screen.

  They always look the pinnacle of elegance in stylish heels. As its coming up for the party season, heels are at the top of my shopping list. Some of my favourites this season are:

Ever since the Halston models strut down the catwalk in their over the knee boots we knew they were going to be massive this season.  I have been looking for the perfect pair for a while now, not just style wise but penny wise too.  I think my search is over:

Have you got Tartan Terror?!

Well, you shouldn't!  I don't think tartan should be a head-to-toe look but some nice tartan accessories work well.  These arrived at Schuh HQ today and I think they are lovely and quite easy to wear.  I was thinking along these lines:

       

 Vest (Topshop), Jeans (Uniqlo), Scarf (New Look), Earrings (Accessorize)and Shoes (Schuh)

Square Toe Schuhs

We have round toe, almond toe, pointed toe and now we have square toe shoes.  I have to say that I am not 100% sold on this idea but I do really like the following styles as they aren't too severe looking:
