While perusing the latest issue of Company Magazine, we clocked their beauty gal Georgia rocking our pink suede Princess Wedges in the High Street Edit feature. We think they look great with the floral jeans and, along with the snakeskin bag, add a great pop of colour to her, otherwise, neutral outfit.

Winter Boots

The weather is quite frankly messing with our heads; in fact, we just experienced all four seasons in one day (including the much-dreaded snow). Although our hearts are longing to embrace the pastels and neon brights of spring, our heads are telling us that it’s DEFINITELY still winter. We’re seriously considering picking up a pair of these winter boots as an investment, not just for over the next few months but for the next few years. Damn that global warming.

This shearling lined boot from Dr Martens is a triumph: gorgeous soft leather, cosy fleece, ribbon laces and the signature DM’s sole. We love these boots because they look as cool with skirts and dresses as they do with jeans.

 

Merrell are known for their high quality, stylish, outdoor footwear and this Oslo boot is no exception. Not only does this leather boot have a faux fur lining and Polartec insulation, it’s also waterproof. Oh yeah, and it’s down to £89.99 in our sale!

 

Also in the sale is this cute little rain boot from Sorel. Sorel boots were a new addition to the Schuh collection this winter: the Canadian brand specialises in weatherproof footwear, perfect for the colder months.

 

Last but not least is this Mount Holly boot from Timberland. Another waterproof boot for those of you who like to frolic in puddles, this boot also guarantees you good karma as the lining is made from recycled plastic bottles!

Presenting… SUPRA

We’re delighted to announce that über-cool brand Supra is coming to Schuh.  Supra footwear was founded in 2005 by Angel Cabada, a devoted skater based out of Orange County, California. Angel took the knowledge he gained from working at the skate brand KR3W Footwear, and used it to start his own brand, Supra. The ultimate skate hi top, these trainers have become a huge hit on the skating scene as well as securing a plethora of celebrity fans including Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne and Justin Timberlake. Supra means ‘above and beyond’ in Latin and the brand’s meteoric rise to fame certainly echoes this sentiment.

January sees the first of our Supra styles hit the stores with the Skytop. This simple hi top design with its clean lines and single colour upper is pure, unadulterated cool.

 

Next up is the Skytop II, higher than the original Skytop and with an outlandish tongue, this shoe is perfect for skaters as it has rubber sidewalls in skate sensitive areas around the toe box.  Not that we’re suggesting non-skaters won’t love it too!

 

 

The third generation of the Skytop is a little bit different with its mid top silhouette. The Skytop III boasts a contrasting outsole designed for increased flexibility and has a distinctly ‘skate’ feel. We’re seriously excited about this brand.

 

 

 

Flying the flag

In 2011 the Union Jack flag was everywhere as Royal Wedding fever swept the nation, and it seems this trend is here to stay, especially with the 2012 Olympics coming to London. We’re getting all patriotic with this selection inspired by the iconic red, white and blue flag, all due in store in January.

 

First up is this super sparkly sequin number from Iron Fist. We love a good sequin and this red, blue and silver beauty definitely makes a statement! Think Ginger Spice, but a tad more subtle.

 

Clarks Originals’ famous desert boot gets a national twist with this Union Jack edition. We’ll be teaming these with jeans and cosy jumpers over the next few months. Truly the best of British.

We love our Dr Martens: perennially cool and effortless, this new style is a must for any DM fan. In fact, X Factor’s Misha B was spotted in our Manchester Market Street store last week picking up a pair of these!

The Hunter brand is a British Institution and they have been producing world famous wellingtons since 1856. The ultimate festival essential, as worn by the über-stylish Kate Moss, we’ll be doing the festival circuit in these boots this summer.

 

 

Men's Trends - Hi Tops

The hi top has remained at the forefront of men’s footwear for countless seasons: whether you choose to make a bold statement or keep it simple this casual and comfortable shoe is top of the trainer world.

 

The Rhyme Remix from Osiris is the epitome of a classic skate hi top with its chunky sole, leather upper and velcro fastening. Add to that an on trend colourway and contrast laces and you’ve got a winner.

When we think of retro sport hi tops there are none more iconic than the Reebok hi top. With a nod to the 80’s this cool blue trainer has patterned laces and original styling. We love it.

If you want to go a bit bling this adidas hi top is the one for you. With shiny patent detailing, this popular style is fresh to death.

Diesel are know for their innovative designs and cool styling and this trainer is an understated effort. Simple and unassuming with subtle basket weave detail, it’s a perfect way for beginners to introduce the hi top into their wardrobe.

 

 

 

 

Men’s Trends – Leather/Suede Casuals

Leather and suede trainers are the perfect way to carry your casual look through the winter months. Sturdier than their fabric counterparts they are versatile and cool, simple and practical.

Pointer shoes are simple and stylish: we love these Gibson style shoes with their uncomplicated design and soft suede upper. Perfect with denim.

 

The classic Vans style is given an update with raised seam stitching and a suede trim. Hiking style laces and a chunky sole update the boat shoe giving it an urban edge.

We love the leather panelling on this Vans plimsoll, great with chinos or jeans, it’s the perfect weekend shoe.

This Braata trainer from Nike 6.0 is the first in this style to come with a suede upper: we love this new colourway and its chunky sole.

This trainer from Vans has a leather upper and ace brogue style detailing. A cross between a trainer and a formal shoe it’s the alternative Christmas party shoe.

Men's Trends - Winterised Products

The trend for durable footwear with outdoor detailing is huge this season: leather trainers and boots with hiking style details will keep you looking cool in the cold.

This modern hiker from Merrell takes the classic hiking style and updates it for the season with a light Vibram sole and coloured laces.

Also from Merrell is this hiking boot inspired trainer with lightweight, recycled mesh upper and eco-friendly EVA cushioning. We love the D-Ring eyelets and contrasting bright orange laces.

Shearling lining is a great update for winter. We love this cosy skate shoe from Osiris with its red fluffy lining and grey leather upper.

Boxfresh are known for their cool and contemporary styles and this leather hi top is no exception. We think this is a great everyday shoe for those of you who don’t want to give up your trainers over the colder months.

We love wedges: the slightly more practical, sturdy alternative to the standard high heel. Not only are wedges super leg lengthening, they also make it easier for us to dance ALL NIGHT LONG. (Apologies if you’ve now got Lionel Richie in your head, although it’s a massive tune so we’re actually not sorry at all.)

This beautiful wedge hit stores last week: we love the platform wedge style and the subtle black glitter heel. We’re predicting this shoe will be gracing Christmas parties nationwide, including ours!

These gorgeous gold wedges have an awesome vintage vibe: we love the ankle strap and the bright metallic peep toe detail. We think these would look ace with coloured tights and cute tea dresses.

Pink and leopard print is so wrong that it’s right. This wedge is a Bet Lynch/Barbie hybrid, sounds like a winning combination to us.
